8th Annual Josefina Magno Conference

This year's conference, titled "The Many Faces of Pain in Palliative Care," focuses on the care of patients with advanced illnesses and diseases and who are experiencing pain. For physicians, nurses, social workers and chaplains, this internationally recognized conference aims to:
- Provide information and skills to the professional healthcare community on management of the uncontrolled pain suffered by those with life-limiting illness
The full conference consists of a half-day pre-conference, titled "Interventional Pain Management for Palliative Care," which discusses interventional pain management, generally required when a patient has regional, uncontrolled or intractable pain. The following two-day conference, "The Many Faces of Pain in Palliative Care," explores many facets of pain management, including progress made, strategies and inconsistencies, the effect of faith-based cultures and biological individualities on pain management, and political, personal and professional barriers to pain management.
