Mid-Atlantic Palliative Care Grand Rounds
The Mid-Atlantic Palliative Care Grand Rounds are quarterly educational events for physicians, nurse practictioners and other interested health care providers desiring to learn more about palliative care. Each event features an interactive dinner networking session, a dynamic lecture session, and an active question and answer period.
Meetings are held 6:30-8:30 pm at the Halquist Memorial Inpatient Center, 4715 North 15th St., Arlington, VA 22205, unless otherwise noted.

This session uses drama and film to explore the impact of social isolation on suffering at the end of life.

Dr. DeRosa will describe issues in caring for patients with end-stage breast cancer, and discuss various areas where hospice and palliative care can partner with acute surgical care.

This session wll describe patho-physiologic aspects of end-stage heart disease which can be improved by palliative care, discuss palliative treatments to improve quality of life for those with end-stage heart disease, and discuss collaboration techniques for the cardiologist and palliative care specialist.
