About the Institute
Mission Statement
The Institute for Education and Leadership is a nationally recognized resource for public and professional education in hospice and palliative care. A formally constituted branch of Capital Hospice, the Institute:
- educates diverse constitutencies via continuing education programs for professional caregivers, research and community outreach
- evaluates practices in hospice and palliative care to promote best practices among all hospice and palliative caregivers.
- provides guidance on ethical and spiritual questions arising in the care of a dying person
- provides public policy guidance for regulators and legislators whose decisions impact health care delivery and end-of-life care
