Virginia Initiative for Palliative Care

The VCU Massey Cancer Center and Capital Hospice's Institute for Education and Leadership have co-developed a free palliative and hospice care training program for healthcare-related professionals residing in Virginia. The Virginia Initiative for Palliative Care is a state-funded training program designed to provide healthcare professionals the opportunity to shadow palliative care experts to get some real clinical exposure and provide time for questions and answers.  Focused on improving clinical experience and an understanding of when to call for assistance, the program includes follow-up mentoring on an ad hock basis as well as some formal structured audio-conference opportunities to address questions that may arise after leaving the program.
