Understanding Hospice Care
Who Can be Admitted?
Capital Hospice offers care to anyone who meets the following criteria:
- Patient has been diagnosed with a progressive, life-limiting illness
or condition
- Patient agrees that focus of medical care will be comfort and quality
of life
- Patient and family agree with the goals of hospice care and sign an
agreement consenting to Capital Hospice services
- Patient will receive care within the Capital Hospice service area of
Northern Virginia, Prince George’s County, Maryland, or the District of
Columbia
Capital Hospice does not discriminate. Care is provided regardless of:
- Age (We provide care to adults, teens, children and infants who have
terminal illness.)
- Diagnosis or type of health problem (We provide services to patients
with a wide range of chronic illnesses and conditions.)
- Sex
- Religion
- Ethnic or cultural background
- Sexual orientation
- Ability to pay
- Availability of a caregiver
