Capital Hospice's Annual Fund Campaign provides critical operational support for programs and services that meet our community's need for the highest quality end of life care. Annual contributions from the community make possible all that we do for patients and families in our care.
Capital Hospice is one of the first and largest hospice and palliative care programs in the country. We began in a church basement in 1977 when a handful of caring and committed people from the community said, "there has to be a better way to care for patients at the end of their lives."
Today, Capital Hospice's careteams of nurses, home health aides, social workers, chaplains, volunteers, and physicians (yes, our doctors still make house calls!) travel more than 1 million miles a year to deliver care to patients and their families in their homes, in assisted living centers, hospitals, and in nursing homes.
Yet we are constantly stretched to reach the patients and familes who come to us in need of our services. That is why Capital Hospice runs its Hospice Annual Fund Campaign -- to secure core support for the programs and services that we provide to an average of nearly 750 patients and families every day.
